TYPE01 is a type-focused media company that covers the world's most exciting type-focused designers, projects and campaigns. We also run Femme Type, a platform that celebrates and promotes the type work created by womxn in our industry to increase recognition and visibility. Since launching in April 2019 our community has grown to over 100,000+ wonderful supporters.
2020 has been a crazy year. But, thanks to all the amazing talent of our design community, it’s also been visually breathtaking. From the influx in experimental serifs to the development of stunning new type systems; a tonne of incredible, unique branding and identity projects to fun lockdown experiments, we’ve been loving the vast and varied creativity we’ve been seeing in design and we’re finally delighted to introduce you guys to our brand new magazine publication.

We're over the moon that we've smashed our £4500 goal! HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported this project so far, we wouldn't be in this position without you! The Magazine
TYPEONE is our new bi-annual gloss magazine that fuses type with topics such as business, technology, innovation, global issues, graphic design, 3D, animation and many more. All of these creative explorations headed by our TYPE01 team and network of freelancers discuss global-led initiatives, projects, campaigns and the people behind them - spotlighting the next generation and featuring an inclusive scope of creative humans from all over the world.

We’ve teamed up with Design Calendar to bring you a carefully curated selection of useful, engaging and up to date creative events and resources in our first issue. We’re huge fans on how these guys support and empower the industry so this collaboration was a no-brainer!
Why is this magazine important?
Type has become an exciting niche and gateway to explore a variety of subjects within the graphic design industry. The written language is at the centre of all communication and can be combined with a limitless amount of topics and applications to make a serious mix of cool things to talk about and share on a global scale. This magazine aims to engage and bring together the type and design community with something new and exciting - to talk about young, inspiring designers highlighting an inclusive bank of designers to inspire the creatives masses.
By creating something physical our content is forced to be confronted by unique viewers (unlike the algorithms of social media). It’s easy for things to get washed over the sea of internet data, whereas with print there’s a more powerful statement to be made. With more and more things moving to digital spaces, we want to continue to create physical artefacts that document our design history and culture. Print is permanent. And that’s why we’re creating a printed magazine.

Sticker Pack — 3x
We’ve collaborated with our friends GreyJam Press in Bristol to bring you a pack of beautiful stickers including a limited edition faded fluorescent TYPEONE sticker, and two artists collabs with type foundry Pangram Pangram and type designer Morgane Vantorre. In response to the feature she was included in, Morgane created a ‘Serif Killer’ sticker set in her Arthemy’s Display Light font whilst we secured the bold ‘WTF’ artwork set in Pangram Pangram’ Formula Condensed font and will print it as an awesome holographic petrol sticker.
Limited Edition A5 Print — “Beauty Comes from Unexpected Places”
We teamed up Type Designer Emily Jing Sum Chang to bring you guys this beautiful A5 foiled by Foil&Co print. Find the positive phrase ‘Beauty Comes from Unexpected Places” set in Emily’s popular and beautiful Acentis typeface.
*All orders of the A5 print will go production once the campaign has finished with an approximate 14 day turn around and shipped.

We successfully completed a crowd-funder for our Femme Type book last year in 2019. The book is now in its second print run after 5 short months of selling out and stocked in the world's major books stores and creative outlets. Thanks to our partner and lifetime friend People of Print, we always use high-quality suppliers (printers, binders, etc.) and distribute on a global scale which this magazine will follow in suit.
