Introducing Rise Of Happiness magazine - Issue 01

The company owners Kaigan Carrie and Rob Hosking have always been interested in how people can manage their mental health and the severe impacts it can have on them. Rob, a qualified mental health first aider, helps people in their times of crisis.

"I served as a frontline Police officer for 5 years which deeply affected my own mental health and I have suffered with PTSD since. Having experienced a career contradicting my own core values and following societal norms of what constitutes success, I realised the negative impact it had on my own wellbeing. Having gone through my own personal growth journey; I see that you can only be truly happy if you live a life aligned with your core values. I am now on a mission to ensure that others look inward and understand what makes them happy instead of following societal expectations.”

Grow your body , Grow your mind , Grow your soul.

“For as long as I can remember I have been very attuned to my core values and what makes me truly happy, and I’m all too aware when I’m not living in alignment with them. After a long period of not living in alignment with my core values, I began to feel like I was losing touch with who I was," explains Kaigan Carrie.

"I’ve spent the last two years deep-diving into personal development and wellbeing and re-learning to trust my intuition. I am now committed to living each day in alignment with my core values. I see far too many people conforming to societal norms and ticking those boxes that society deems ‘successful’ and will make them happy, only to see these people left feeling empty and unfulfilled. This is where my passion for our company and this magazine came from.”

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

Rise of Happiness believe that there are 3 pillars in life that we need to nourish to live a truly fulfilling life. It is important for us to nourish our physical body, our emotional mind, and our soul.

When a body is fit, it can handle the everyday stresses of life and help maintain both physical and mental health. If we take time to be aware of ourselves and be in the present moment, noticing our own thoughts and feelings, and the world around us, we can gain a better perspective. Spiritual wellness acknowledges our search for deeper meaning in life. When we’re spiritually healthy, we feel more connected to not only a higher power, but to those around us. The magazine will contain inspirational stories from people who have made their goals a reality and expert advice and tips on improving your overall health and wellbeing.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT

If the COVID 19 pandemic has taught us anything, it is the importance of prioritising your own mental health and wellbeing. Around 1/3 of adults and young people say that their mental health has gotten much worse since March 2020. Rise of Happiness magazine is important as it will help our readers improve their well-being and find more joy in each day. Life is so short and precious that we want everybody to have access to a life that makes them truly happy.

WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE

The magazine is called Rise of Happiness and that is exactly what we are setting out to do.  We want our free magazine to give back to society and help them understand more about themselves. The articles and tips within the magazine are inspired to ensure that they are more than just writing on paper. We want them to encourage our readers to reflect on who they are and what truly makes them happy. The content will be thought-provoking to help people grow their mind, body, and soul.

We have all experienced the effects of Zoom fatigue since the pandemic and life seems to be going as fast as it always has, if not faster. Our vision for the physical magazine is that it can be used as a self-care practice where our readers can connect to the present moment, take time out for themselves and slow down.
